POSITION TITLE: Senior Brand Manager
DEPARTMENT: Marketing
REPORTS TO: Director, Marketing
CLASSIFICATION: Exempt

ORGANIZATIONAL DESCRIPTION:  In operation since April 1999, the American Legacy Foundation was created as a result of the Master Settlement Agreement between tobacco manufacturers and a coalition of 46 state Attorneys General.  Legacy’s mission is to build a world where young people reject tobacco and anyone can quit.  The foundation’s mission is:

  • To arm all young people with the knowledge and tools to reject tobacco.
  • To eliminate disparities in access to tobacco prevention and cessation services.

POSITION SUMMARY:
As a member of the Foundation’s Marketing team, the Senior Brand Manager will provide direct support and report to the Director of Cessation Marketing. The Senior Brand Manager will be responsible for assisting in the development and implementation of Legacy-sponsored cessation marketing programs, most notably the recently launched EX® campaign.  The Senior Brand Manager will be supported by an Assistant Brand Manager and will be partially responsible for the ongoing management and professional development of this direct report.

RESPONSIBILITIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES:

  • Manage the development and execution of the Foundation’s cessation marketing programs, primarily EX®.
  • Manage day-to-day communications with all advertising and media agencies to provide direction and feedback on projects.
  • Manage day-to-day communications with various State and National partners, primarily members of the National Alliance for Tobacco Cessation and other EX® partners, in collaboration with the Program Development department.
  • Provide additional marketing support as needed to internal departments: Program Development, Strategic Partnerships, Public Policy, Priority Populations and Research.
  • Provide regular updates to senior staff on all projects via status reports and in-person meetings.
  • Develop and build strong relationships within the Foundation to coordinate efforts and identify synergies between other departments and Marketing.
  • Develop and oversee the design and production of marketing support materials.
  • Assist in the management and career development of the Assistant Brand Manager and supporting Marketing Coordinators to ensure a smooth workflow process.
  • Others duties as necessary.
  • Must be flexible and able to work in a fast-paced, deadline-oriented team environment.

QUALIFICATIONS:
The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor’s degree with 7+ years of experience in marketing and/or advertising preferred.  Must have excellent communication skills, analytic and interpersonal skills and ability to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced work environment.  Candidate must enjoy building strong, collaborative relationships with internal and external stakeholders and be a proactive, creative, team player.

COMPENSATION PACKAGE:
Salary is mid $60’s based on experience with EXCELLENT benefits.
