Manager of Collaboration and Outreach – State Partners

CLASSIFICATION: Non-Exempt

POSITION SUMMARY:
The Manager of Collaboration and Outreach – State Partners provides support to implement outreach activities as outlined in the foundation’s stakeholder outreach plan with a focus on state-level partners such as departments of health, public health foundations, and coalitions. The manager will complete tasks as assigned to support relationship development with state-level contacts, including providing updates on relevant foundation activities and monitoring the environment at the state and local levels. The manager will serve as the state membership liaison for the National Alliance for Tobacco Cessation, a public health collaborative established by the foundation to support a national adult tobacco cessation campaign.

The manager will work with other foundation departments and support interaction with stakeholders primarily on the state level as appropriate and needed. This position will report to the Director of Collaboration and Outreach.

RESPONSIBILITIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES:
Under the supervision of the Director of Collaboration and Outreach, the manager will:

  • Assist with implementation of the foundation’s annual stakeholder outreach plan with an emphasis on state and local partners by completing assigned tasks, tracking plan deliverables, and completing a report that monitors plan implementation according to an established process and in coordination with the Director of Collaboration and Outreach.
  • Serve as the membership liaison for state-level entities participating in the National Alliance for Tobacco Cessation by working with designated individuals internally and externally to coordinate membership activation, respond to member requests, and assist with individual and group correspondence.
  • Facilitate ongoing communication between Legacy and state-level stakeholders, which includes but is not limited to, monitoring and reporting on state partner activities, assisting with opportunities for project collaboration, and supporting the development of  written updates and presentations tailored to state-specific audiences in conjunction with the Director of Collaboration and Outreach.
  • Serve as a liaison to other departments to coordinate a cross-departmental effort to promote foundation activities and share information about foundation programs and initiatives with national partner organizations.
  • Assist with other outreach and collaboration activities, such as national partner outreach, as needed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:
The successful candidate will have a Bachelor’s degree and three to five years of project management experience demonstrating strong organizational and customer service skills as well as the ability to meet deadlines and track multiple projects.

Experience with state government or a membership organization in the public health or tobacco control fields is desired.

Excellent written and oral communication skills are desired.

Candidate must be able work collaboratively with peers and follow-through on assignments independently. Ability to travel periodically to meetings and conferences.

COMPENSATION PACKAGE:
Salary is mid $50’s based on experience with EXCELLENT benefits.
